Donations Help More Than You Know
My days normally begin between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m. My routine is to put the dogs out, get my first cup of coffee (if it is baby season I feed babies as I drink my first cup of coffee) and then let the dogs back in the house. I like, when able, to take that first hour after I get up to relax –after that, I belong to the world.
Saturday morning was going according to normal, when at a little past 7:30 a.m., a knock came at the front door. My mind automatically went to the worst reason that someone could be knocking on my door at that hour. It is normal for people to pick up an animal that has been hit by a car and just show up early in the morning or during the night.
Expecting the worst, I opened the front door to a sweet woman holding a jar. When I opened the outside door, she introduced herself and told me that three or four months earlier she had brought me a baby squirrel. She said she was so impressed with what I do that she shared my information with the people she works with.
What a wonderful surprise when she handed me a jar of bills worth $518. I do not believe people realize how much their donations help with this work. We are not funded by any government entity. We rely solely on donations and money generated by the public.
A week ago I received my first 20 pounds of formula for this year. The cost of that formula was $375.95. Will that donation made by SISTERS TAG AND ESTATE SALE help? ABSOLUTELY. Thank you so very much. – Fran
